Avoid 'Mom - I'm Bored!' this Summer

I know I am not the only mom who has been putting some serious thought into what to plan to do with her kids this summer that will be fun but won't break the proverbial bank.

I have brainstormed, asked other Moms, asked my kids, scoured the web and managed to find some good ideas. Baby Cheapsake was one of the best to give some down-to-earth ideas.

Here are some of the things I have come up with:

• Swimming in our community pool.
• Attending our weekly Church Playgroup.
• A weekly activity with Grammie.
• Visiting the Heard Museum (local flora/fauna and special events).
• Attending Vacation Bible School.
• Visiting the local Library.
• Visit the local Bounce House.
• Cooking together.
  
• Have a friend over to play.
• A Summer Reading Challenge (with a prize at the end of Summer for meeting goals of reading or being read to.)
• Visiting the local Pet store.
• Visiting the local Mall.
• Doing crafts.
• Doing service for others - family, friends, neighbors, etc)
• Playing games/puzzles.
• Trading off chores.
• Quiet Time...A MUST!! :)
  
• Going for nature walks.
• Water fun in the backyard.
• Zoo.
• Creating a 'play' for family.
